A bit of history...

Yangshuo is located in the northeast of Guangxi Autonomous Region. Located close to Guilin (about 65 km by land from Yangshuo to Guilin) and a history of over 1400 years, Yangshuo displays a natural scenery with typical karst formations. Within its borders, the environment features unique karst hills, crystal clear water, exquisite stones and huge caves. Yangshuo became the first county in China that embraced foreign tourists. It was the start for tourism to be rigorously promoted in China.
